Divisions

2014 Gay Games will have the following divisions in the Women’s and Men’s tournament:

Men

A – International (Professional)
B – National (Top-50 Ranking)
C – Competition Level (National 50-100)
D – Recreational with some competition
E – Recreational with no competition experience
F -  Masters I 35+
G – Masters II 45+
H - Wheelchair
A – International (Professional)
B – National (Top-50 Ranking)
C – Competition Level (National 50-100)
D – Recreational with some competition
E – Recreational with no competition experience
F -  Masters I 35+
G – Masters II 45+
H - Wheelchair

2014 Gay Games may choose to combine divisions if a division has too few players to hold a competition in the division.

Participation

Participants may compete only in one division.

Participants may compete in Division F – Masters I 35+, and Division G – Masters II 45+, regardless of skill level, if the participant has reached the appropriate age level (35 or 45) by 31 December 2014.

Medals will be awarded to the top three (3) players in each division. 

Schedule

The Squash tournament consists of two (2) sessions: Preliminary rounds, organized as pool play (round robin), and Finals, organized as a single-elimination system.

The winner of the preliminary round matches will be the winner of two (2) of three (3) sets.  Final match winner will be the winner of three (3) of five (5) sets.

Rules

The Squash tournament is governed and conducted under the rules of the sanctioning body, World Squash Association (WSA) and U.S. Squash. Changes in any rules will be posted to this website within one (1) month before the scheduled competition.

The winner of a match is required to be the referee of the match immediately following, or is responsible to arrange a substitute.  A player who does not referee or provide a referee for the following match is subject to disqualification.
