Bike Requirements:
Time Trial (Team/Individual) - All bike types are allowed including Road, Triathlon (time trial), Hybrid or Mountain Bikes.
Criterium - Bikes with dropbars only. No mountain bikes or hybrid bikes with flat bars or triathlon (time trial, with aerobars) bikes allowed.
Road Race - Bikes with dropbars only. No mountain bikes or hybrid bikes with flat bars or triathlon (time trial, with aerobars) bikes allowed.
Mountain Bike Race- Mountain bikes are recommended (double suspension, 29ers, hardtail, singlespeed) but cyclocross bikes can also be ridden. However, there are likely some elements in the course that may be challenging with a rigid fork bike.

Omnium
New to the Gay Games will be a 6th event, the Tour de Gay Game 9, an overall event that will assign points for each race and award medals for each age category for the points leaders after the last race. Each cyclist who registers will also be included in the overall competition. Points will be awarded for each road (ITT, TTT, Criterium, Road/Circuit) and mountain bike race.

2014 Gay Games will offer Licensed and Unlicensed divisions for men and women in the Team Time Trial. If a team consists of two people in different age divisions, then the team will be scored in the division of the youngest individual. In addition, if one individual is licensed then the team will be scored in the licensed division. Medals will be awarded to the top three individuals in each gender’s division, class and age group.
